ブルース・スプリングスティーンの‘Because the NIght’は、“Live/1975-85”（86）と“The Promise”（10）に収録されています。
村上春樹の『村上さんのところ』（2015）に、パティ・スミスについて、次のような記述がありました。
彼女がブルース・スプリングスティーンとつくった「Because the Night」は素敵な曲ですよね。このあいだWOWOWで「ブルース・スプリングスティーン・トリビュート」を見ていたら、彼女がこの曲を歌っていました。素晴らしい歌唱でした。で、早速《Yuo Tube》でパティ・スミスの‘Because the Night’（ライブ）を聴いてみました。また、‘Because the Night’の制作過程についてもネットで調べてみました。《一緒に歌える 洋楽ブログ（FC2）》に次のように書かれていたので、引用させていただきました。
パティ・スミスがアルバム「Easter」（イースター）のレコーディングをしていた時、隣のスタジオではブルース・スプリングスティーンが「Darkness on the Edge of Town」（闇に吠える街）のレコーディングを行っていて、両者は互いの録音テープを交換していました。そしてパティ・スミスはこの曲の歌詞を女性の立場に書き換えてレコーディングをしたようです。結局ブルース・スプリングスティーン自身はこの曲をアルバムには入れず、「Live/1975-85」というライヴ・アルバムでのみ聴くことができます。
パティ・スミスの‘Because the Night’が最高に良かったので、久々にスプリングスティーンの‘Because the Night’も聴いてみました。
